USA enjoys Emerald Success

The USA Rifle Team had a tremendous trip to Blue Ball, Tullamore, Ireland for the Emerald International Matches held June 6-10 at Midlands National Shooting Center.

This was the largest international event held at the Midlands range with a broad list of nations represented. Individuals from Poland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, England, Scotland, Italy, Spain, the USA and even a couple of line referees from Australia, were all in attendance at this year's competition.

The USA F-Class crew had an outstanding event. Madison Bramley, one of our great junior members, started out the long range day with an outstanding OW in F-Open. James Crofts led all to take the OW in F-TR for Individual Day 1 and Ed Shelley and Addison Mohler, both took OWs on Day 2 of the individuals in F-TR and F-Open respectively. James Crofts and Addison Mohler, for USA, took the overall individual Emerald Championships for F-TR and F-Open, with Ed Shelley, USA finishing a strong 2nd in F-TR in a strong field of 100 competitors.

The team match was equally as well contested with USA F-TR and F-Open teams bringing home the Gold medal, or better said Silver Platter, for the win.

We would like to thank our incredible IRISH host as they put on a great event. The Midlands range is truly a treasure within international f-class competition and it is great to see tremendous growth each time a USA contingent is able to make the trip over the pond.

It was also wonderful to join our fellow shooters from all over the world in great competition and comradery on and off the line.

We look forward to the next time.
